The AIMS Power inverter charger series gives you a pure sine power inverter with a charger and an automatic transfer switch built in. The inverter is to be plugged into an AC 110 volt power source, such as your homes wall socket and also connected to a DC battery source. When this is done, the inverter allows the AC utility power to pass through it and operate the electronics plugged into it. At the same time, the charger is activated that is charging and maintaining the batteries. When a power failure occurs the automatic transfer switch knows this and switches the inverter to run off the battery source. This in turn gives you the peace of mind knowing that if you are away and a power failure occurs you will know that your electronics will have the AC power needed to operate.
