Certified Products to UL Standards

For more than 100 years, UL has been dedicated to ensuring safety for electrical equipment, appliances and other items. Once known as Underwriters Laboratories this testing organization now goes simply by its initials. It has attained high credibility for its testing and is one of several organizations used by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, to test products for safety.

If you are wondering about UL approved vs. UL listed, it is important to understand what UL does. It “lists” products it has tested that can be reasonably expected to be free from fire, electric shock and similar hazards. Those are crucial qualities, of course, and AIMS Power is proud to offer many UL listed ETL UL Standards certified power inverters and products.

ETL (which stands for Electrical Testing Laboratories) descends from the Lamp Testing Bureau founded by Thomas Edison in 1896. Like UL, ETL also lists products it has tested and judges to be safe for approved uses. Our ETL product listing includes items certified to UL 458 or UL 1741 inverter list standards. These standards cover a broad range of inverter uses, such as for vehicles as well as for fixed, stationary and portable inverters.

If you are looking for a solar power inverter for remote use in an off-grid cabin or RV, you will find it here. With this type of AIMS inverter, remote living means you don’t have to rough it.

In addition to inverters, you will discover many ETL-certified solar panels and solar charge controllers on our website. Besides assuring you of maximum safety, our ETL certified products come with extended warranties, meaning you can buy with total confidence. Our ETL listed pure and modified sine inverters are also ETL listed to CSA 22.2 to meet standards of the Canadian Electrical Code published by the Canadian Standards Association.
